Yesterday, I decided I wanted to get started on my May bullet journal layouts. The layout for daily pages that I’m currently using is working well. I figured that since I’m still new to bullet journals I would change it up anyway. That way I can try new things for a while so I can see what I like and what I don’t.
I know some people don’t need a whole page of space for each day. I don’t write neatly when I have to write small. Also, my vision still gets weird when my eyes are tired, so the bigger the better!
Getting The Spreads Done
My goal for yesterday was to get the daily pages done. Which I basically succeeded at. I have them all laid out. I just did it in pencil so I still have to go back over it in pen and it will be ready to use! That is the fun part though, adding color and stuff to the pages! So I’m looking forward to that.
I liked the way I had the three big boxes to fill in on my April pages. I decided to keep the three boxes. Just to rearrange them on the page and change up the look a little bit.
The three large boxes are as follows. One is where I record everything I eat each day. The second box is where I record my daily workouts and exercise. The third block is labeled Blog and that is where I write everything blog associated. What I posted, brainstorm for ideas, etc.
I left a space for my To-Do Stuff on this layout as well. This time it is in the bottom corner since I changed the layout of the three large boxes. This layout provides a little more room for to-do stuff than April’s did. At least I think it will. By the way, while I’m thinking about it, I wanted to tell you that I bought some cheap stencils on Ebay. I’m so glad I did. They are easy to use and make me feel like I have more design options since I’m not artistic at all!
My headaches are the traumatic brain injury (TBI) symptom that causes me the most trouble. I added a headache tracker to my daily spread. It is basically 5 small square boxes where the number of boxes I color in will represent how bad my headache was that day. So a good headache day won’t have many boxes colored. A migraine day it will be colored all the way to the top.
So I was trying to decide how I wanted to handle the rest of my TBI symptoms as far as tracking goes. I decided to try giving my day a concussion score. From 1-10, 1 is not so bad, a 10 is a rough day where my brain feels extra bruised.
There is also a little bit of room under the concussion score box that I could write notes about my symptoms if I wanted to.
So That’s What Is On My Daily Pages
I have my daily pages all done, except for the fun coloring/decorating part. While I was working on the May layouts I tried to think of ideas for some new pages to add for May.
I definitely want to add a “Horse Show / Kentucky Derby Day” page. Our farm show and the derby are both the first Saturday in May. I definitely want to include a page for those.
I will definitely still have a period tracker page, weather page, something about gratitude or positive affirmations, and a money tree page to keep track of income in and out. Hopefully, I can think of a few new creative page ideas to add! I’m going to have to get to Pinterest and check that out!
I will also of course have a fishing log and books that I have read!
My April section has pages for me to write my work notes in. I teach riding lessons and so I take notes about each lesson. It helps my bruised brain remember and helps me to keep making sure our lessons are headed in the right direction.
I liked having the lesson notes in my bullet journal. Mostly because I just didn’t want to have a separate book for it. I’m trying to get away from having a million different journals. That is what got me into the idea of the bullet journals.
So I want there to be a place for me to do my lessons notes for May. Thinking maybe do a different layout of it for May and see if I like it better!
Off To A Good Start For May
April is flying by so it’s a good thing I’m getting a headstart on May. I’m going to share with you pictures of my page layout as I worked on it and added to it. Don’t judge me, remember this is my rough draft. I just wanted to pencil it all in and I will go back and make it pretty soon!
Once I get these daily pages nice and pretty and start to work on my other pages for the month of May I will share them with you!
