I’m a reader. If I’m not writing I’m reading. I’m sure you can guess what it is that I like to read about. You got it, horses! Mostly fiction. Sometimes I might randomly read some non-fiction or nonhorse book. Not this month!

The only pleasure rider in the whole barn, drama ensues of course! Turns out that this woman who doesn’t fit in with the others. Just may be enthusiastic and creative enough to help Grace figure out how to keep her farm.
Book two, Horses in Wonderland, continues to tell the story of Grace trying to keep Sea Breeze Equestrian center up and running. It was getting harder and harder as tourists and suburbia were quickly closing in. Grace is determined not to turn over all aspects left of equestrian activity in Florida to theme parks. Fox Ridge Series By Bonnie Marlewski-Probert
- Fox Ridge -The Secret
- Fox Ridge- Lovers or Liars
- Fox Ridge- Friend Or Foe
- Fox Ridge-Phoenix
- Gifts For The Holidays
The Fox Ridge Series is about a super talented jumper rider, Katherine McMahon. Katherine is running from her past and lands in North Carolina where she is successful for many years with Fox Ridge Equestrian Center. She plans on taking her secret with her to the grave. All that changes when she meets the new local, vet. Who just happens to be totally attractive and totally single.
Katherine is great with horses, not so much with people. The Fox Ridge series is another fun equestrian series. The horse and equine lifestyle are just as important as the rest of the storyline. There is some adult content in these books, so I would recommend them for mature readers.
Forward ( The Eventing Series Book 5) by Natalie Keller Reinert
The main characters Jules and Pete are now running an eventing co-op barn. Doing what she said she never would Jules is teaching lessons and not one hundred percent focused on her riding. There has been a rift between the two of them since Pete lost his grandmothers farm. He is unhappy with the owners of his current horse who think the horse she pushed up the levels faster. Dynamo, Jules advanced horse is starting to show his age. This book continues the story of Jules, Pete, and the trials and tribulations of running a barn as well as trying to excel in your own riding career. This book also revisits old friends and not so favorite characters from earlier in the series.
Defining Gravity Series Genevieve McKay
- Defining Gravity Series Book 1
- Flight- Book 2
- .Free Fall-Book 3
- .Riding Above Air-Book 4
Set in Canada, there are some terms in this book that you may not be familiar with. In the context of the sentences, it is easy to figure out what they mean though. This series is different because of the main character, Astrid, not being a horse crazy person from the beginning. Astrid’s first love was always archery. A series of unfortunate events leads her to have to put her archery career on hold. Astrid’s father insisted she finds something to do with herself since archery was out of the question. Her friend has a horse at a local farm and insists Astrid come and work there. She could even learn to ride.
Astrid started out very apprehensive, but it didn’t take her long to feel at home. This series tells Astrid’s story of becoming a horsewoman and all the cast of characters that she meets along the way.
Dream Horse Mystery Series
Dream Horse Mystery Series- By Candace Carrabus
Book 1- On The Buckle
Book 2-Run Out
The dream horse mystery series is focused around Vi. A talented horsewoman with a big sometimes sassy personality. She is coming up on 30 years old and has never been able to hold a steady job. Even riding, she would only do what was best for the horses, even if that meant making an owner mad. Vi, estranged from her parents, finds out about a trust fund they have for her.
In order for her to cash it in, she must hold a job for a year. Not just keep the job, but end the year with a glowing report from her boss. She ends up in Missouri working on a farm, one must different than the ones she is accustom to. Vi was hired to make the farm a success, but there are others that are willing to kill to keep this from happening. From a dead body in a manure spreader. Then her estranged parents showing up unexpectedly and bringing trouble of their own.
This series is all horses and mystery. Filled with twists and turns and unexpected happenings, these books are page turners. At least they were for me.
This series also I would recommend for mature readers due to some mature content.
