Bucks In Velvet / Batchelor Groups
The bucks are in velvet as you can see! I love seeing them in velvet. I just think it’s the coolest thing. I’m starting to compare this year’s photos with last years to see if I can figure out if I recognize any of the bucks.
That is one of my favorite parts about using the game camera. If you watch them closely enough then you can learn to tell them apart. By the time hunting season starts I will be able to tell them apart.
I think that we got a glimpse of our biggest most mature buck “Buster” as we call him in a few of these photos.
Once hunting season gets closer he won’t come out during daylight hours. We will only get photos of him right before and right after shooting light.
It is typical on the Hyde farm property that early on the bucks run together in bachelor groups. I love this time of year. Nothing is more exciting than all those deer with antlers in one picture!
