I Spend A Lot Of Time Looking At Photos On My Phone
I have tons of photos! Like literally! Every once in awhile I will go to my google photos app and type on a certain date. Today’s specific date didn’t come up with anything. Instead of the specific date, I put September 2018.
I browsed through all the pictures that I had taken that month. Some are actually pictures of old pictures I found. Either way, it’s fun to see them and share them!
Last September, I was in a lot worse shape than I’m now! I was less confident about going out of the house with my walker. Also, I spent a lot of September having anxiety about teaching lessons again after so much time off! Even though I only started with 2 lessons a day, 2 days a week!
I still try to ride the recumbent bike daily. We have become very familiar with each other over all these months.
You Goat Mail
This cute goat came in the mail from Christina, with a note that said “You Goat Mail”. The rest of the card said, “an emotional support animal that won’t eat your stuff!”
She was referring to the fact that for a while I had this precious little bottle baby goat in my house named, Cain. He wasn’t tough enough to live outside and had a lot of health problems, so I babied him. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it.
I got this cute little stuffed animal in the mail to take his place. He is much less maintenance!
I love this photo of Zoe! It makes me smile and remember the cool things about her. Instead of how hard the decision was to put her down at such a young age. She had a rare disease that caused her to have intermittent lameness issues. Eventually, she would have died from it. It would have been a slow, agonizing process, so I made the selfless decision to do what I thought was most fair for her.
Before Cool Got Hurt
Cool is my sister-in-law’s horse that we use in our lesson program. He had a lot of time off since my nephews were born shortly after she acquired him.
Fortunately for us, she decided we could use him in the farm program. He eased back into work really easily. As you can see from this blurry nighttime photo, he was going beautifully.
Unfortunately, he had a bad injury in the field. What the thought to be a broken hip or pelvis. This kept him stall bound for a very long time. Since being turned back out he hasn’t gotten back into a training program again but we hope to be able too soon!
Lots Of Time To Go Through Old Pictures
The rest of these pictures are old pictures that I must have stumbled across in September of last year. I took pictures of the pictures and that is how a bunch of super old photos ended up in my google photos album from last September.
Yep, That Is Me In The Cowgirl Outfit!
This is our horse Dublin, who I believe is now 24 years old. We had gone to a John Lyons Clinic in Winston, Salem, North Carolina. The organizers wanted a morgan horse in western tack since they already had one in English tack.
Our family friend, Gail, who was Dublin’s owner at the time was so thrilled to see me in western riding attire, she bought me the clothes and hat for it.
I don’t remember a heck of a lot about it, except for that to enter that arena you had to ride through a narrow shoot with the bucking bulls for the rodeo on either side. Dublin was super young at the time if I had to guess I would say no older than 4 or 5. He pranced right past all those beasts like it was no biggie. While a lot of the other horses, older, more experienced ones wanted no part of getting anywhere near that arena if it meant going by those bulls!
Gail is gone now, she died of breast cancer a while back. She gave Dublin to me before she died. We used him in our lesson program and now he is semi-retired, just getting ridden once a week or so to keep him limber!
Back In The “Glory Days” Of Our Program As I Like To Call Them!
Back When We Had An Eventing Team
I hate and love this picture! Back when we were eventing and showing with students years ago we made a lot of great memories. There are a lot of happy smiling group shots like this from that time!
I have not since had such a dedicated group and as much camaraderie as we did back then.
The reason I hate this picture is that I don’t normally think I look like I have aged a ton just yet. Then I see pictures like this and I think I look old!!! I mean that probably was at least 10 or 12 years ago, but still! I want to stay forever young. Obviously, we all do though.
Local Horse Club
This picture is of Tycen and his daughter on her pony, Cupcake. It was taken a fun show many moons ago, back in the heydey of our local horse and pony club. We all had a lot of fun with the group. Over the years, it has sort of disbanded but I have a ton of fun memories from it!
So These Are The Photos I Found When I Put In September 2018!
Some actually of September of 2018! Other old photos that I must have just recovered this time last year and snapped a picture of them with my phone.
Those old photos I had forgot even existed so it was fun to stumble across them again!
The pictures that were actually taken last year hold just as fond memories! It really is true, a picture if worth a thousand words!
