Fall Jumping Clinic
Yesterday we held our fall jumping clinic. It was a small group of girls, but what a fabulous experience.
The Clinic Plan
My plan for the clinic was to teach the girls how to set up grids and how to walk their strides. Then they set up a grid and a line on the other side and we schooled that.
The second portion was working on asking for the correct lead over fences. As well as correcting the lead if they got it wrong.
The last portion was for them to design a course and jump it. We gave them some specifications and they built a great course.
Then I Surpised Them!
Just when they thought they were done. They had all jumped a nice course on the horse they started with. I went and had them all switch horses.
It was awesome to see them take what they had learned on the horse they started it and applied it to get the other horses around the course.
Here Are Marley And Amelia
Amelia started on Ruby, then jumped the course on Tic Tock, then on Marley. She has ridden Marley a lot over the years so she is pretty familiar with him.
I Will Critique This Jump Ride Tomorrow!
Actually, We will take a look at her ride on another horse, and compare it to her ride on Marley in this video. I’m going to prove to all the doubters how much it benefits you to ride as many different horses as you get the opportunity to.
