Finny Is Showing His Age
My horse Finnigan is in his early twenties. Over the last few months, he has been showing his age. He has shown more signs of stiffness. Some days he looks like he is short striding on both front feet.
It sort of seemed to come on all of a sudden, I’m sure that part was just my imagination. Either way, I decided to talk to the vet and do some research on the possibilities of joint supplements that might help Finn to feel less achy!
He is a horse that has had a lot of wear and tare in his life. He was a racehorse and a event horse. Then he was my pleasure horse until I had my accident two years ago. I wanted him to have a job. So he started being used in lessons.
Vet Recommended Cosequin
When I discussed the possibility of starting him on some sort of joint supplement, the vet immediately recommended Cosequin.
I did a little research about it since I have heard of it but never used it before.
#1 Vet Recommended Product
There is published research to show that it is safe and effective. Cosequin contains trademarked ingredients that aren’t available in other brands.
One level scoop of Cosequin is 33 grams. In one level scoop, it will contain- Magnesium 16 mg, Glucosamine Hydrochloride 1.8 mg, and sodium 600 mg.
I was hard-pressed to find many negative reviews on this product.
The positive reviews greatly outnumber the negative. Horse owners reported seeing results after as little as four weeks. Many owners with horses in the beginning stages of arthritis and horses recovering from injuries reported great results.
Some owners who previously had to use joint injections on their hocks and stifles reported that after getting on Cosequin the joint injections were not needed anymore.
Most of the negative reviews were from owners with very old horses. Horses that had advanced arthritis and horses that have old injuries that they have been struggling with for a long time.
The only other review I saw that was negative was that a few customers ordered it and the container wasn’t full. That definitely would be frustrating. I would hope though, that is something that you could contact the place you got it from and they would send you another one.
Where To Get It/ Cheapest Price
It appears that Amazon has the lowest price. I would definitely shop around though because a lot of retailers have it and it seems there are a lot of sales and special offers out there.
I Will Give You A Finny Update
Finny has only been on it for about two weeks. Once it has been a month to 6 weeks, I will report back on how it is working for the old man. Cross your fingers!
