Fishing On The Jenny Bird
It was a nice day for fishing. Considering it was a week day there was quite a lot of boat traffic.
Our First Stop and The One That Got Away
The first fishing spot we tried was one of our popular honey holes at Podickery Point. We were in 22.2 feet of water. Water temperature 75, and it was just coming up on the high tide.
Shortly after we got set up at the first spot. Something hit Tycen’s rod hard. It was pulling drag and everything. He fought it almost to the side of the boat. Just as I was getting ready with the net, the line broke off and whatever it was got away.
After the excitement of the one that got away, we continued to catch white perch pretty regularly for the next hour or so.
We also caught 1 Croaker, as well as two spot that went on the live line as bait. We were hoping for a Rockfish off the live-line rods, but no such luck! Oh Well, there is always next time!
Headed South Towards The Bridge
Heading south toward the Bay Bridge, we picked a spot that was at 17.6 feet of water. There were marks on the fish finder, but after about a half an hour, we called it a day when we hadn’t gotten any more bites!
