I Know I’m Late On This
I kind of have a system for writing posts and then posting them. I didn’t realize when Love your pet day was until after I had already written a post for that day. My OCD would not allow me to not post the post I had originally planned for the day. Anyway, That’s why I’m posting this late, because of my psychotic tendencies!
All About My House Pets
This post is just about my animals in the house. You would get super bored if I went on about my farm animal pets too!
3 Dogs and 1 Cat
Tilly- 2 year old Black and Tan Coonhound/ Bluetick Hound mix
Raylan- 7 year old Bloodhound
Ziva- 4 year old Mini-Mutt ( chihuahua perhaps with rat terrier ? who knows!)

All About Tilly
I heard about Tilly needing a home from my farrier. She had saved her from an abusive situation when she was a puppy.
Shannon already has two dobermans and Tilly was turning to out to be a challenge for her. It was her first hound dog experience. Tilly is a dog that needs and wants people all the time. Shannon is a full time farrier so she was unable to give Tilly the time and attention she needed to thrive. Though she would have kept her forever if she didn’t find the perfect match for her. We have had Tilly since October of last year and she fits right into our family. To see her here with the others you would think she was raised here her whole life!

This is our farrier that gave me Tilly. She is an excellent farrier and all around great person. If your horses need a farrier, check out her facebook!
Raylan

Named after the badass US Marshall, Raylan Givens, from the FX show Justified. Raylan is a 7 year old bloodhound.
I heard about Raylan through the rescue I’m involved with. He was a ways away in Rockingham, VA. I saw his picture and it was love at first sight. My fellow foster friend Ann was already scheduled to foster him. So Ann gave Raylan to me and then I paid it forward. Went back to the shelter and pulled another dog for Ann to foster. He was a scrawny young redbone hound. I can’t remember his name at the moment.
Raylan is the leader of the dogs in our house, Tilly is his shadow.
Raylan is pretty huge and has very dark eyes so he can be intimidating to see if you don’t know him. Really though, he is a truly a big old lovebug.
Ziva

After my senior citizen Yorkie, Itty Bitty died, I was heartbroken. He was an old man that had a good life, but it was still hard to lose him.
Itty died during the early times after my accident.I was not able to do much around the big dogs, just for safety reason. I really wanted a lap dog. So I started looking online for one that needed a new home. I found one on some random site, I can’t remember the name of the site of hand.
Ziva needed a new home because supposedly her current owner didn’t have time for her. She gave me all of Ziva’s belongings with her ( for a little dog she came with a lot of stuff!). Ziva acts more like a person than a dog. She used to be very fearful, but she has come a very long way.
The weirdest thing is that is she basically doesn’t think she is a dog either. She doesn’t associate or play with the other two.
By the way, when I got Ziva her name was Guinevere. I found this much too long of a name for such a small dog. So I changed her name to Ziva. As in Ziva David from the show NCIS.
Last But Not Least Wednesday The Cat

I did not go out looking for a cat until Wednesday. Up and to that point, I had admittedly not been a cat person.
My friend and I went on a weekend trip to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. She wanted to show me the place that she had adopted her cats from. It was called “The Cat Cafe”. A rescue basically, in a big old house. You pay a few dollars to get in and you can stay and pet the cats and kittens for as long as you want. Obviously, they are hoping you will want to take one home!
When we were there a woman came in with a cat in a carrier. She was a long hair tortoise shell-colored cat. I was immediately in love with her. I thought there was something majorly wrong with me. Seriously, when have I ever been freaking out over wanting a cat.
Anyway, I came home from a weekend trip with the cat!
Wednesday is a crazy cat. She is a good mouser and that is a real plus for us in our old farmhouse. She waits for us at the front door as a dog would. She spends a lot of time cuddled up and playing with Tilly. She is a weirdo. Sometimes she runs around the house like a fool. Sometimes she actually tries to run up the walls.
Even though she is crazy, we all love her, even the dogs.
Oh yeah, one more thing. My friend who I had been on the trip with, who got her cat there, had named her cat Lurch. In keeping with Adam’s Family theme, my crazy cat became Wednesday!
http://givepurrsachance.org/ is the rescue/ cat cafe I got Wednesday from if you want to check it out.
Now You Have Met All My Animal Children
Every day is National Love Your Pet Day in our house! I love them all to pieces and treasure the time I get with them. I would have a hole in my heart without Raylan, Tilly, and Ziva, and Wednesday!
