Where Have I Been?
Well, mostly I have been right here at home. I was struggling with my TBI symptoms a bit more than usual for a while. Which made it hard for me to work on my computer. I also planned my wedding ( with lots of help ), went on a bachelorette trip, came home, got married, and went on a two-week vacation. These last few weeks have been sort of settling back into normal stuff for me. Back out to the barn doing lessons and summer programs.
I felt like I had writer’s block for the longest time. I had no clue what to write about for a while. Then I would try to pick a subject and then end up just staring at the screen and not coming up with anything. Some of I’m sure is related to my T.B, I, because I have felt like I have slacked on some of my exercises. Which I have recently restarted again.
Also, I had not done much reading in a while. I started reading again as much as my eyes would allow. Reading mostly horse books of course. I tried to absorb a lot of the descriptions and development of the characters to help me with my writing. Even though I haven’t done much fiction writing, I think being aware of things in what I’m reading can help me.
MD Rennaissance Festival
Due to COVID-19, there has not been a Rennaissance Festival. Now that things are supposedly better with the vaccination rates going up. The festival is opening again this year.
This means my string of pony ride ponies needs to get back in shape and ready to work. They work in shifts for an hour and a half at a time. The festival runs from 10 a,m.-7 p.m., so we have them on a schedule to get breaks. It is still a super long day for all involved. Click below for more info on the Renn Fest
Christina’s horse that we got in Kentucky on Easter weekend is doing well. Coming along in her training. We have been on hold for a few weeks now, she seems to either have a bruised hoof or an abscess that is super deep and not ready to come out yet. She walks okay but limps at the trot. Will keep you posted on that. We are certainly anxious to get back to working with her again.
Amelia’s horse, Cool, has damaged his hip and pelvis again, most likely a fracture. This happened to him a few years back on the other side of his body, and with rehab, he came back sound again.
Hopefully with time and a careful rehab program for him again he will be as good as new. I will definitely keep you posted on that as well.
My horse Finn, has been unsound for a while now. The next step for him is to try glue-on front shoes again. Hopefully, that helps. He most likely has some hind-end arthritis that I will need to deal with. I’m just trying one thing at a time to rule things out.
Taylor did pop on him bareback after it rained and the ground was a bit softer the other day and he looked a little better. The soft ground makes a big difference, so I’m hoping if I can keep the glue-on shoes on his feet that will help with his comfort.
I Missed The Blog!
Sitting here now working on the blog, I realized how much I missed it! So I’m back. Hopefully, I will have some good stuff to share with you! A lot has happened since I have been here last!
Hope all is well in your world!
